Do you know when you want to watch something inspiring, that gives you motivation, but instead you spend hours looking for something on Netflix? There are so many options that you can’t decide what to choose. To help you out, I made a list of 3 inspiring movies about women and the ocean to watch on Netflix so you can start feeling inspired right away.
Adrift
OMG! You guys have no idea how much I cried watching this movie. Maybe because I just come back from a short sailing trip or because I’m missing my family quite a bit – thanks, COVID-19 :(. But, the fact is: this film is cool! Totally worth every drop!
Losing sight of shore
When you have a passion and a goal, nothing can make you give up. Four brave women set out to row across the Pacific Ocean from America to Australia. Based on interviews and footage of the crossing, they relate the things that motivate them to overcome the challenges of crossing the Pacific Ocean, rowing more than 8000 miles on their own, at the mercy of the wind and the waves. It’s an inspiring movie about resilience, life, and friendship. That is why it’s the number one on my list of inspiring movies about women and the ocean to watch on Netflix. I love it and heartily recommend you check it out.
Moana
The second on my list of inspiring movies about women and the ocean to watch on Netflix is a beautiful animation. I’m not a big fan of animation or cartoons, but the script of this movie is terrific. Moana is a strong and determined Polynesian girl who has the ocean as one of her best friends and fights to protect her island. This movie made me think about facing my fears and how sometimes we don’t listen to our intuition. When you have free time take a look at this animation film, you won’t regret it.
Given
When I saw this suggestion on the Netflix’s home webpage, I hesitated before clicking on it. The name didn’t tell me anything and neither did the description. After some days, I decided to watch it and oh-my-god! The way the little boy talks about his mother and the beautiful scenes hooked me right to the end. The movie is about a six-year-old boy’s memories and his family travels and surfing adventures. I included it in this list of 3 inspiring movies about women and the ocean to watch on Netflix because his mum is courageous and tender at the same time, and you find yourself admiring her as you watch the film.
Let me know if you have any other suggestions to include on this list, I would love to hear your top 3!
