Best of June: My podcast suggestions

At the beginning of 2019, I spent more than 3 months commuting between Brisbane and Gold Coast. I used to take 2 hours on a train and I was craving for good podcasts to make time goes faster.  I was looking for podcasts in English which would add some knowledge and fortunately I came across the following 3.

My podcast suggestions #1: Mamamia Outloud

Every Wednesday and Friday, I have the voice of 3 women voice in my ear with Mamamia Outloud podcast. It is about what women in Australia are talking about, from politics, TV shows and careers.

This program makes me laugh out loud when I’m on my way to work. Many times it got my smile when I was having a bad day. I strongly recommend it.

Especially if you were born overseas, this podcast would help to get in contact with some local topics. It really gave me more points of connection with Australian co-workers. Finally, I have something in common to talk to them.

My podcast suggestions #2: Creative Confidence Podcast

my podcasts suggestions

I came across this podcast on a WhatsApp group about the creative industry. It is about leadership, creativity, innovation, and growth, bringing personal experience and trick from leaders in the industry, including some from Silicon Valley. For those who work in the creative industry and doesn’t speak English as a first language, this podcast is a boost to improve vocabulary and listening focused on creativity.

My podcast suggestions #3: Do it Scared with Ruth Soukup

A podcast prepared and hosted by women for women. It discusses sensitive topics about career, parenting, entrepreneurship, always bringing the courage perspective. One thing that I still hear from some friends is “I wish I had the courage that you have”. But I believe courage is a skill that anyone can master. It is not a divine gift.
